Alongside using fairer and more sustainable minerals from supply chains that trace the flow of materials from mine to product, we are also using recycled materials in our products. That’s because we believe it’s important to improve mining conditions as well as invest in getting materials back into the production cycle.
Saving Emissions And Resources
The distinct advantage of recycled minerals is that they use far less energy than virgin ones. Recycled copper and aluminium use 90-95% less energy than mining virgin materials and they can be recycled again and again.
On top of that the quality of recycled copper and aluminium is just as high as virgin materials. Copper, aluminium and nylon are key materials for electronic accessories, especially USB cables. Copper and aluminium form the core of the wire and braided Nylon is used as a protective shielding. Because they are so key to our products we are working on using as much recycled copper, aluminium and nylon as possible.
Using recycled materials is a great way to make production more sustainable. It is important to keep in mind that also recycled materials came from the ground and a mine before they were recycled. That’s why we use responsibly sourced virgin materials alongside recycled materials.
